The Director-General, Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Oluwatoyin Gafaar has stated that the “Keep-Fit-Lagos” initiative, a bimonthly aerobics programme designed to promote a culture of healthy living among Lagosians will continue to get bigger and better.

Gafaar, speaking at the second edition of the programme held recently at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, said the exercise was created to promote the general well-being of the people of Lagos and it will continue to exceed expectations with the increasing number of participants.

“People should take advantage of the initiative to come out and exercise to improve their health and well-being because Health is wealth. This programme was specifically conceived to avail residents of the opportunity to stay healthy”, he said

“We will continue to do everything possible to contribute our quota to the development and well-being of the people of Lagos and Nigeria through similar programmes”, he added.

Gaafar further charged the participants to be conscious of their health status and embrace the culture of regular exercise as the state will not relent in its efforts to improve the mental and physical wellness of Lagosians.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Damilare Orimoloye pointed out that “Keep-Fit-Lagos” has become a movement pushing for the overall well-being of the People.

He commended the conscious efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the programme.

“We will build on the momentum by teaching participants how to exercise properly and educating them on the importance of managing their health as well as living a healthy lifestyle”, he noted.

One of the participants, Abayomi Olabisi commended the bimonthly exercise programme organised by the Commission and for providing a convenient platform for people to engage in regular exercise.

Olabisi said it is a good idea for the government to bring people together for activities that tend to promote general well-being and manage stress.

Similarly, Oluwatosin Micheal, another participant, said Keep-Fit-Lagos is a laudable programme designed for people to stay healthy.
